This World Environment Day, we’re proud to share how we’re playing our part in safeguarding the environment through our continued partnership with GreenTheUK and the Royal Forestry Society.
Together, we’ve pledged to plant a further 4,000 climate-resilient trees across the UK during the 2024–2025 planting season – a commitment that builds on the success of our 2023–2024 campaign.
Why This Matters to Us
As part of the Nicholas Associates Group of companies, it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a Group that actively champions environmental sustainability. The UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe, and trees play a vital role in absorbing carbon dioxide, improving air quality, preventing soil erosion, and creating habitats for wildlife.
By supporting native and climate-resilient tree planting, we’re helping to:
- Restore and expand the UK’s native woodlands
- Enhance biodiversity and support thriving ecosystems
- Boost natural resilience to climate shifts, pests, and diseases
- Reconnect fragmented habitats so wildlife can flourish
Reflecting on 2023–2024: Real Trees, Real Change
During our first year working with GreenTheUK, we proudly supported the planting of 4,000 trees across several UK sites. These included species such as alder, Scots pine, wild cherry, sessile oak, and rowan – all chosen for their climate adaptability and ecological importance.
One standout site was in County Tyrone, where an active quarry was transformed into a growing woodland. Seeing our support bring life to industrial landscapes is a powerful reminder of the real-world impact we can make.
Our 2024–2025 Pledge: Doubling Down on Impact
Now, we’re taking things further. We’ve pledged to support the planting of another 4,000 trees during the 2024–2025 season. These trees will be planted in carefully selected locations across the UK, with long-term management plans to ensure they thrive and contribute meaningfully to our shared environmental future.
